Loads of Canada Day events for you

Alex and Canada Day flag at the Halifax Common picnic Canada Day has crept up on me out of no where. Next week? How'd that happen? That means LOADS of Canada Day events to get into our calendar, so I've been a busy bee the last few days rounding them all up. I've focused on what seems to be the particularly family friendly events. Check out the Canada Day events in our calendar here. If I've missed any, do let me know!

Last year we went to the picnic on the Commons and had a great time. Alex was given a huge Canada flag that has been part of his dress-up box ever since. This year I'm *definitely* going to the Butterfly House at the Natural History Museum (it's open all summer but the grand opening is on Canada Day). Last year Alex was too scared to go. I have no idea why, but it's pointless at times trying to talk reason with a (then) 4-year-old. But with or without him, I am going this year! 🙂

How will you be celebrating Canada's 142nd birthday?

Wednesday Outing

Bedford residents play a carnival game during the opening night of Bedford Days at DeWolf Park. Events at the park drew a good crowd, however, celebrations were tempered a little with the announcement that the fireworks show would be cancelled because of fog. The fireworks that would have been used on Thursday will be added to the Canada Day fireworks show on July 1.
