Lower Water Street – Road Closure

Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a section of Lower Water Street in Halifax will be closed to vehicle traffic this weekend to facilitate the assembly of a construction crane for a private development in the area.

Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, Lower Water will shut down between Bishop Street and Salter Street. One lane will reopen at 9:30 p.m. for overnight traffic and close again at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 17. The assembly of the crane will be complete and the street will fully reopen at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The sidewalk on the east side of Lower Water Street will remain open for pedestrians throughout the closures. Crews will accommodate local traffic only; all other motorists are advised to find alternative routes during the closures. The municipality regrets any inconvenience these closures may cause.
