Lunenburg County RCMP have arrested a 60-year-old man in relation to an earlier shooting incident.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. this morning, RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man on Little Tancook Island.

RCMP members attended the island and our preliminary investigation revealed that a 47-year-old man had been shot. At approximately 10:15 a.m., RCMP arrested a local resident without incident. The victim, a Tancook Island resident, was found outside in a field. The victim and the suspect were known to each other.

More information will be released as it becomes available. The death is considered suspicious at this time and investigation is continuing.
