Lunenburg District RCMP arrests two drug-impaired drivers between February 1 and 2

Between February 1 and 2, Lunenburg District RCMP arrested two drug-impaired drivers.

On February 1 at 10 p.m., RCMP members responded to a single-vehicle collision in East LaHave, Lunenburg County. The investigation led police to believe that the 17-year-old male driver was impaired by drugs. The driver failed to comply with the demand for a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluation. He will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on February 28 at 11 a.m. where he will face impaired and refusal charges.

On February 2, a 53-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving. A DRE completed an evaluation and as a result, Elaine Delores Sarty of Bridgewater was charged with Impaired Driving.

Lunenburg District RCMP encourages motorists to help keep our roadways safe by reporting suspected impaired drivers.
