(Updated) Two incidents to mention via HRP : Man arrested in Dartmouth after violent outbreak. Driver ticketed after pedestrian struck in Halifax

At approximately 5:10 pm last evening Halifax Regional Police responded to a physical disturbance at an apartment located in the 0-100 block of Kennedy drive in Dartmouth. A 40 year old female reported being assaulted by a 37 year old man who was known to her. After the assault the man caused significant property damage to the apartment and contents. The man was arrested without incident and will be making a court appearance this morning to face numerous criminal charges stemming from the occurrence.

A 37-year-old Dartmouth man faces numerous charges after a physical disturbance in Dartmouth yesterday evening.

On February 11 at 5:10 p.m., police responded to a physical disturbance in the 0-100 block of Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth. A 40-year-old woman reported that a man had assaulted her and that he was causing damage inside the residence. The man and woman are known to each other.

The police confirmed upon arrival that the woman had safely exited the residence and the man was the lone occupant. Officers maintained a dialogue with the man through the door in an attempt to get him to exit, but he refused. Members of the Emergency Response Team breached the door and the man was taken into custody without incident.

Ashley Michael Googoo will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face one count each of forcible confinement, assault and property damage and five counts of breaching court orders.

At approximately 7:10 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Gottingen Street and North Street in Halifax. An 18 year old man was struck in a crosswalk and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
