Mackay Bridge and ramps closed this weekend, Barrington construction in Downtown core

Here's a summary of road closures this weekend in North End & Downtown Halifax.

Construction This Weekend on MacKay Bridge

Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) advises motorists of the following bridge closures on the MacKay Bridge:

Weekend of August 6 to August 9
• Closed to all traffic from 8:00pm Friday, August 6 reopening 5:30am Monday, August 9.
• This bridge closure is necessary to install the second of two new expansion joints on the MacKay Bridge.
 

On Saturday, August 7, and continuing until Sunday, August 8 (weather permitting), there will be road construction taking place on the Halifax side of the bridge ramps at the MacKay Bridge. During this time, there will be lane drops with stop-and-go traffic between the hours of 5 am and 10 pm.  Access from Massachusetts Avenue onto Barrington Street and from Barrington Street onto Massachusetts Avenue will be closed during this work.

Motorists are requested to find alternate routes.  HRM apologizes in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause.

Sunday Road Construction – Barrington Street/Between Sackville and Spring Garden

On Sunday, August 8, (weather permitting) there will be road construction taking place on Barrington Street, between Sackville Street and Spring Garden Road.  During this time there will be stop-and-go traffic, beginning at 9 am.

HRM apologizes in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause. Motorists should expect delays and are requested to find alternate routes if possible.
