From HHB:
Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) advises motorists of the following:

Full closure – 8:00pm Friday, July 16 until 5:30am Monday, July 19

The MacKay Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 8:00pm Friday, July 16 until 5:30am Monday, July 19.

This bridge closure is necessary to replace four deck panels at the Dartmouth Main Tower. The work requires the bridge to be closed so the schedule is compacted into around-the-clock weekend work.

Two lane closure – Friday, July 23 to Monday, July 26

The MacKay Bridge will operate with one lane in each direction from Friday July 23 at 7:00pm to 5:30am Monday July 26.

This work is part of a $7.4 million maintenance project taking place this summer on the MacKay Bridge. The work includes replacing expansion joints and the adjacent deck panels followed by resurfacing of the suspended spans. Further lane and bridge closures will be necessary to complete this project.

We strive to minimize the disruption to the traveling public and this project is being completed with around-the-clock lane or bridge closures outside of the peak traffic hours. We apologize for any inconvenience the closures cause. This project is necessary for the long term safety of the traveling public.
