Male arrested – Assault Police with a Weapon

At 10:04 p.m., on 13 February, Halifax Regional Police were dealing with a separate call for service in the 2100 block of Barrington Street Halifax, when a adult male not involved approached two police officers and threatened to kill both officers.

The officers placed the male under arrest, at which point he fled on foot. The officers pursued the male and stopped the male on Brunswick Street. The male then turned toward both officers yelling he was going to stab them. A Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed to gain compliance.

No one was injured during the incident. Officers did locate and seize a knife near the male once he was cuffed. A 28 year old male from Halifax is held for court and will be charged with: Assault Police Officer with a Weapon (Knife), Possession of a Weapon (Knife) for a Dangerous Purpose, Resist Arrest, and Uttering Threats to cause Death.
