From HRPD:
At 11:48 pm, HRP responded to a weapons complaint at the QE2 Hospital . A male victim entered the hospital after being shot in the face with a pellet gun and assaulted.

The incident took place in North end Halifax when the victim and his friends were sledding and throwing  snowballs at passing vehicles.  During this time a white truck stopped and 3 black males, ages 18-19, exited the vehicle and began assaulting them and one male shot the victim in the face with a pistol style pellet gun. The victim was treated for some facial injuries and this matter is believed to be a random act. The assailants left the area after the attack in the vehicle and the matter is still under investigation.
