Man airlifted to hospital after falling overboard, Municipality of Queens, N.S.

RCMP responded to a man in the water near Port Mouton. This morning at 8:11 a.m., RCMP and the Joint Rescue Coordination Center responded to a call that a man was in the water off the shores of Port Mouton.

This morning at 8:11 a.m., RCMP and the Joint Rescue Coordination Center responded to a call that a man was in the water off the shores of Port Mouton.

A 40-year-old male had fallen overboard from a fishing boat. The crew of the boat managed to get the man out of the water and transported him to a wharf in Central Port Mouton. The man in critical condition has since been airlifted by a Canadian Forces Cormorant Rescue Helicopter to Shearwater and then by ground to hospital in Halifax by EHS.

The matter remains under investigation.
