Man and woman arrested for firearms offences

Inverness County District RCMP has arrested a man and a woman for firearms offences after executing a search warrant at a home in Glenora Falls.

On January 29, 2022, the Inverness County District RCMP began an investigation after receiving information of the unsafe storage of firearms at a home in Glenora Falls.

On February 3, as part of the investigation, police arrested a 43-year-old Glenora Falls man without incident in Mabou. Police then executed a search warrant at a home on Glenora Falls Rd. in Glenora Falls. Police arrested a 29-year-old Glenora Fall woman without incident at the home. During the search, police located and seized 11 unrestricted firearms, one restricted firearm, two replica firearms and ammunition.

The man and woman were both later released on conditions and they will be facing charges of Careless Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition and Tampering with a Firearm’s Serial Number. They will both appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on March 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
