Man and woman charged after thefts and use of stolen credit cards, Halifax, N.S.

RCMP have charged a male and a female for thefts and fraud. On June 17th, the RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) began investigating incidents where car windows were smashed and wallets/purses taken from vehicles.

On June 17th, the RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) began investigating incidents where car windows were smashed and wallets/purses taken from vehicles.

The suspect would then use the stolen credit cards to purchase items before the cards could be cancelled. The incidents occurred at the Salt Marsh Trail on Bissett Road, Rainbow Haven Beach and the subsequent use of these credit cards at various businesses. There was also a similar incident at the MacDonald Sports Ball field in Waverley.

On June 19th, SCEU officers conducted a traffic stop on Hines Road in Eastern Passage. Officers arrested a 34-year-old man from Lantz and a 34-year-old female from Lower Sackville. He is facing numerous Criminal Code charges including Using Stolen Credit Card, Fraud, Theft of Credit Card, Mischief and Possession of Stolen Property. He is currently in police custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court today. The female has been charged for using the stolen credit cards and being an accessory to frauds. She will be appearing in court at a later date.
