Man arrested for assault with a weapon

Halifax District RCMP arrested a 21-year-old man following an assault with a weapon in Cole Harbour on May 26.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., police responded to an assault that occurred near a business on Cole Harbour Rd. A 26-year-old man was approached by an acquaintance and an argument ensued.  The acquaintance assaulted the victim and then pulled out a knife. Another man brought the victim inside a business and called 911. 

Police attended and located the suspect fleeing the area on foot. The suspect was arrested without incident.

The suspect is facing charges of Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on September 23.
