Man charged in May stabbing

 

Investigators from the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested a man last night in Halifax in relation to a stabbing that occurred last month.

At about 12:20 a.m. on May 29, police responded to a residence in the 0-11 block of Old Sambro Road in Halifax for a man who had been stabbed. The victim, a 48-year-old man from Halifax, and two other men were in the residence when three men with their faces covered entered the residence and attempted to rob the occupants. One of the suspects got into a struggle with the victim and the victim was stabbed several times. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

Twenty-six-year-old Michael Christopher Smith of Halifax was arrested at 7:24 p.m. on June 29 without incident on Forbes Street in Halifax. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of break and enter, robbery and aggravated assault. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
