A man faces charges in connection with a shooting last week in
Fairview.

On April 14 at 1:25 p.m., police responded to a shooting at a business
on Titus Street. Officers located a 41-year-old man at the scene
suffering from a gun shot injury and he was taken to hospital with non
life-threatening injuries. A second man, 23, arrived at the hospital a
short time later with a gun shot injury that is believed to have
occurred at the Titus Street location. This was not a random incident
and investigators believe that the 23-year-old man was the intended
target, however, the 41-year old man was an innocent bystander.

Eighteen-year-old Decoda Devon White of Halifax, who was arrested
without incident at an Albro Lake Road address yesterday afternoon, was
scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face two counts
of attempted murder, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent,
two counts of pointing a firearm, and one count each of careless use of
a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a
concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is
unauthorized, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon with
ammunition, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle and possession
contrary to order.
