Man Charged with Aggravated Assault

A Halifax man faces charges in connection with an aggravated assault and assault that occurred on January 30 in Bedford.
 
At approximately 7:44 a.m. on that day, police were called to the 300 block of Rocky Lake Road  for a report of a 33-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman who were assaulted by a man known to them. Officers attended the scene and located a man who was suffering from wounds to the face and head. He was transported to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries and was later released. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene. 
Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged 26-year-old Travis Paul Hooper of Halifax with aggravated assault and assault. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court this afternoon to answer to the charges.
