Man charged with impersonating government employee online

Police have laid impersonation charges in relation to an incident that occurred in Halifax last year.

On October 17, 2023, police received a report of a person who had accessed a social media account associated with a government employee, that was not their own, and sent out an antisemitic message as the account holder.

Investigators arrested the suspect at an address in Bedford on February 7, 2024.  A 25-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count of impersonation.
