Man chases paramedic with knife while being treated

At approximately 6:00 P.M. Halifax Regional Police officers responded to an apartment in the 200 block of Wyse Rd to assist an EHS ambulance member. 

At approximately 6:00 P.M. Halifax Regional Police officers responded to an apartment in the 200 block of Wyse Rd to assist an EHS ambulance member. 

The EHS attendant had been at this apartment for a call of an unconscious male. As EHS worked on the male, he regained conscious and became very combative and eventually chased the EHS attendant from the apartment with a knife. The EHS attendant was not injured. Officers arrived at the apartment and arrested the 31 year old male suspect. He is still in police custody and will be attending Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday July 7, 2014 to face charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breaching a court order.
