Man dies after ATV goes through ice – Lake Charlotte

At 1:06 a.m. today, Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP responded to a call of a missing person, who had been out four-wheeling on Lake Charlotte and had not returned. The family of the missing man was concerned he had fallen through the ice.

The 25-year-old from Musquodoboit Harbour area was located by firefighters approximately four hours later, in a patch of open water on the lake.

The ATV was located nearby.  Firefighters attempted to revive him, and he was then taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

He was alone on the ATV and the RCMP and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to his death.
