Man faces 45 charges after 22 thefts from NSLC stores

Police have laid 45 charges in relation to a number of thefts and a robbery that occurred in Halifax over the last two months.

Between March 3 and April 11, police received 22 reports of thefts from a number of different Nova Scotia Liquor Commission stores. In each case, the man entered the store, stole merchandise and then fled on foot. The merchandise stolen in the incidents is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.

On April 2 at approximately 9:10 p.m., police responded to a robbery in the 1500 block of South Park Street. Two men stole a package that had been delivered to the lobby of an apartment building and assaulted the owner of the package when he approached them. The two men then fled on foot.

Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Quick Response Unit arrested a man in relation to the incidents. Jeffrey Frizzell-Chittick, 18, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face one count of robbery, 22 counts of theft under $5,000 and 22 counts of possession of property obtained by crime.
