Charges are pending against an adult male after a reported robbery with violence at a residence in Baddeck, Nova Scotia.

On August 27th at approximately 6:00 p.m., RCMP from Baddeck responded to a 911 call reporting a woman being found beaten and barely conscious in her residence.

The suspect was known to the victim and a vehicle description was obtained. The suspect vehicle was later located in Florence and the suspect was apprehended without incident by members of the Cape Breton Regional Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

Michael Francis Corbett, 38-years-old from Sydney Mines remains in police custody pending a court appearance in Sydney today to answer to charges of Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Trafficking in a Schedule l Substance.

The victim remains in hospital in serious condition.
