Man faces firearms and drug charges, MacKay Section, N.S.

A Hants County man faces charges after police conducted searches in MacKay Section. An investigation conducted by members of Windsor District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit with assistance from the Integrated Guns and Gangs Section led to search warrants executed at two addresses in MacKay Section on October 31st.

An investigation conducted by members of Windsor District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit with assistance from the Integrated Guns and Gangs Section led to search warrants executed at two addresses in MacKay Section on October 31st.

The searches resulted in a seizure of more than 200 cannabis plants, a quantity of hash oil and two long gun firearms.

A 51-year-old male from MacKay Section was arrested and is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and under the Criminal Code for Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and for Possession a Firearm while prohibited. The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Windsor Provincial Court on January 6th, 2015 at time 9:30 a.m.
