Man Faces Multiple Charges

From HRPD: A man faces multiple charges after an arrest last night in Dartmouth. At 8:23 p.m. East Division Patrol officers, assisted by officers with the East Quick Response Unit, responded to a suspicious person call on Highfield Park Drive.

A man faces multiple charges after an arrest last night in Dartmouth.

At 8:23 p.m. East Division Patrol officers, assisted by officers with the East Quick Response Unit, responded to a suspicious person call on Highfield Park Drive.

A resident called police to report that two people were checking out vehicles in the parking lot. When police arrived, one man attempted to flee but was caught by officers. Police recovered a knife that the fleeing suspect had thrown while running from the officers.

An 18-year-old Dartmouth man faces charges of possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, attempted theft of vehicle, mischief and breach of his conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.

The second person, a 15-year-old male youth, was arrested without incident and released without charges.
