Man faces murder charge in Enfield shooting death, Enfield, N.S.

Investigators in the Special Investigations Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged 53-year-old Joseph James Greene of Kings County in connection with the homicide of 47-year-old Patrick Earnest Deagle of Bedford.

Greene is facing a charge of Second Degree Murder.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. on August 12, 2015, Halifax District RCMP responded to a weapons complaint at a residence on Stage Rd. Upon arrival, police found an individual outside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Deagle died from his injuries.

Greene remained in police custody since his arrest in Kentville at 6 a.m on Thursday. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial court at 9 a.m.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Deagle.

The investigation is continuing.
