Man facing indecent act charge

Police have charged a man in connection with an indecent act that occurred Saturday morning in Halifax.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 24, Halifax Regional Police received a call regarding a man masturbating on a trail in Long Lake Park. A man and his young son were walking on the trail that runs parallel to the 0-100 block of Old Sambro Road, when they encountered a naked man masturbating. The father yelled at the man who quickly got dressed and left the area. Police attended the area and quickly located and arrested the suspect without incident.

A 53-year-old man from Halifax was later released and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on August 1 to face the charge of committing an indecent act.
