Man killed crossing Highway 101 last night

Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Halifax District, of Sackville office responded to a call at 22:33 hours, of a pedestrian being struck by a car, on exit ramp # 2 coming off Highway 101, into Sackville.

Tuesday, July 26th 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) N.S. …. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Halifax District, of Sackville office responded to a call at 22:33 hours, of a pedestrian being struck by a car, on exit ramp # 2 coming off Highway 101, into Sackville.
A 31 year old male was found deceased at the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle was interviewed and released without being charged. Sackville was is in a major power outage at the time of the accident. Visibility was also very poor due to adverse weather conditions. An autopsy will be performed on the deceased ASAP. Exit ramp # 2 was closed for several hours with assistance from the Dept. of Transportation. The investigation is continuing.
