Man killed in truck-motorcycle collision

West Hants RCMP Detachment is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Union Corner.

Yesterday, at approximately 11:36 a.m., West Hants RCMP Detachment responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Lawrence Rd. in Union Corner. Upon arrival, RCMP officers learned that a Ford F150 and a Yamaha TW200 motorcycle were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.  

The driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old Mantua man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 27-year-old Union Corner man, and the sole passenger, a 29-year-old Wolfville man, were both uninjured as a result of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.

Lawrence Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
