Man Pulls Knife On Kids Near Bedford School

At approximately 9:30 P.M. several youths, ages 12 to 13, were sledding on a hill at Basinview School in Bedford. 

There was an adult male standing in the parking lot of the school who made a comment to the youths about not using foul language.  A verbal dispute ensued between the youths and the male at which point the male ran over and grabbed two youths and threw them to the ground. He had a knife in his hand and threatened the youths. At this point several other adults were arriving at the school and the male suspect fled on foot. None of the youths were injured. Halifax Regional Police patrol units along with a K-9 unit attended the scene but could not locate the male suspect. He is described as a white male, approximately 24 years of age and 5’6 in height, wearing a black jacket, black jeans, white sneakers, black gloves and a blue baseball cap with a white logo on the front.
