Update : Police charge man for Dartmouth stabbing
Police have charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Dartmouth last night.
At approximately 1:15 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured man found on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Investigators determined that the 31-year-old man had been stabbed during a robbery by a man who was known to him. Shortly after, police arrested a suspect in the area without incident.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Eighteen-year-old Kyle Steven Shand of Dartmouth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Court today to face charges of:
- Robbery
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon and robbery that occurred in the early morning hours in Dartmouth.
At approximately 1:16 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured male found on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Pinecrest Dr. in Dartmouth. Investigators determined that the 31 year old male victim had been stabbed during a robbery. Shortly after police were able to take an 18 year old male suspect into custody.
The male victim was transported to hospital by EHS and is being treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stages and more details will be released when available.
