(Found) Man robbed, stabbed, in Dartmouth. One in custody

Update :  Police charge man for Dartmouth stabbing

Police have charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured man found on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Investigators determined that the 31-year-old man had been stabbed during a robbery by a man who was known to him.​ Shortly after, police arrested a suspect in the area without incident.​ ​

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. ​

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Steven Shand of Dartmouth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon and robbery that occurred in the early morning hours in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1:16 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured male found on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Pinecrest Dr. in Dartmouth. ​ Investigators determined that the 31 year old male victim had been stabbed during a robbery.​ Shortly after police were able to take an 18 year old male suspect into custody.​ ​

The male victim was transported to hospital by EHS and is being treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. ​

The investigation is still in the preliminary stages and more details will be released when available.
