Man robs gas station, attempts getaway on bicycle

Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred early this morning.

At approximately 12:10 a.m. officer responded to a robbery in progress at the Irving Gas Station at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth.  A man entered the store demanded money.  The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of tobacco products and cash.

The suspect then attempted to steal a bicycle from a nearby home and was detained by the residents until officers arrived moments later.

Cody Michael Anderson, 28, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Attempted theft
  • Trespass by night
  • Resisting arrest
