Man robs store, “getaway cab” refuses to take him away

At 1:30 AM -  East Division patrol officers responded to the Needs Convenience Store located at 303 Prince Albert Rd in Dartmouth in response to an armed robbery in progress.
At 1:30 AM –  East Division patrol officers responded to the Needs Convenience Store located at 303 Prince Albert Rd in Dartmouth in response to an armed robbery in progress.
The store clerk reported that a man had entered the business, brandished a knife and demanded money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the store. The suspect had apparently arrived in a cab, committed the robbery and attempted to leave by the same cab. The driver of the taxi refused to transport the suspect who then fled on foot towards Celtic Dr. The responding patrol units located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The cash stolen during the robbery was recovered, no one was injured.
 
A 29 year old man from the Dartmouth area has been charged with Armed Robbery, he will be appearing in  Dartmouth Provincial Court in the morning.
