Man Shot On Williams Lake Road Sunday Night, One In Custody

On 20140706 at 8:21 pm, HRP officers responded to a weapons complaint in the 0-100 block of Williams Lake Road where information received indicated a male had been shot. Officers located a 46 year old male victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. Containment was set up, a  K9 track was initiated and 5 male suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.  HRP FIS and members of the Integrated  CID attended to continue the investigation. The male victim was transported to the QE2 Hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now in stable condition. The matter is still under investigation with charges anticipated and this was not a random act.
 
Four of the five suspects have been released from police custody.  One 20 year old male will appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today facing the following charges:
239 CC – Attempted Murder, 268 CC – Aggravated Assault, 267(a) CC – Assault with a Weapon, 244(1) CC – Discharge Firearm with Intent, 244.2(1)(b) CC – Discharge Firearm Recklessly, 85 CC – Using Firearm in Commission of an Offence, 86(1) CC – Careless Use of a Firearm, 86(2) CC – Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, 87 CC – Pointing a Firearm, 88 CC – Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, 92(1) CC – Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, 95 CC Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, 117.01(1) CC – Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order and 145(3) CC – Breach of Recognizance X 4.
