Matthew Johns v. Sobeys Board of Inquiry Begins

An independent Nova Scotia human rights board of inquiry in the case of Matthew Johns v. Sobeys is scheduled to begin Friday, Jan. 23.

Mr. Johns alleges that he was discriminated against with respect to employment because of his aboriginal origin while employed by Sobeys. Sobeys denies any allegations of discrimination.

The board of inquiry will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Orchard Inn, 153 Greenwich Rd., South, in Wolfville.

The board chair is Dennis James, who is independent of the commission, which is a party representing the public interest at the board of inquiry.
