Menswear Monday (Guest Post): Concrete And Camo

Guest poster Chris Norris explores a new purchase in today’s Menswear Monday post. Find out what Chris picked up this week that is taking him out of his comfort zone.
Concrete And Camo | Chris Norris
This week was another style breakthrough for me, for a couple reasons.  I purchased my first piece of camouflage clothing!  I resisted it for long enough, but just felt drawn to it!  I always say go with your instinct, and I’m glad I did.  I think it will get a lot of use this Spring.

I also was able to score an item that I have been tirelessly searching for forever: a classic black varsity/letterman jacket.  I was thrilled to find one, and there just so happened to be an extra small available – this was clearly a sign that I needed it!  Along the way, I picked up this burgundy flatcap and then what did I do?  Threw them all together to create this look!  I was a little apprehensive about throwing a varsity jacket over a camouflage shirt, but I wanted to wear all my new things and – what do you know? – I liked them together!

So I guess the lesson this week is:  Don’t think too much about your outfits, and don’t be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone!  I find when I try to meticulously pair and match things in a methodical way, it’s always predictable and “safe”.  But when I just instinctively grab items I like and think might pair well together – they usually do!

Guys – this week I challenge you to find a new way to wear one of your favorite, or most used pieces!  You might surprise yourself!  🙂

Thanks to Nicola Jefferis for photographing me, and dealing with my spontaneity!
