Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Metro Transit passengers should expect some service delays and plan extra time for their Monday morning commute as a result of this weekend’s storm. Due to significant snow accumulation, passengers are encouraged to use caution at terminals and bus stops as many stops are impeded by snow.
HRM Municipal Operations has advised that bus stop clearing will begin overnight but it is anticipated to take several days to load and haul the snow. The turnaround time for completing bus stop clearing is typically 72 hours following the end of snowfall once all sidewalks are complete. Given the amount of snowfall this weekend, achieving these services standards will take longer.
Buses may not be able to pull fully into bus stops and the loading and unloading of buses may take longer than usual.
Metro Transit regrets any inconvenience this may cause, and thanks passengers in advance for their patience as they work hard to provide service after the storm.
Metro Transit’s top priority continues to be the safety of its passengers and employees.’
