Mid- span crash on Macdonald Bridge leads to impaired driving charges

Motor Vehicle Collision – Macdonald Bridge 

At 10:22 p.m., on May 15, Halifax Regional Police responded to a three vehicle collision on the Angus L. MacDonald Bridge Halifax.​ The three vehicle collision was mid span.​

A vehicle travelling toward Dartmouth in the Centre lane crossed over striking a vehicle travelling toward Halifax.​ A third vehicle also travelling toward Halifax then struck the first vehicle.​ The driver of second vehicle has to be extricated by HRM Fire & Emergency and then transported to the hospital minor non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was temporarily blocked while the vehicles were cleared from the bridge.​

Police arrested the driver of the first for Impaired Operation.​ A 36 year-old male from Halifax will appear in Halifax Court on a later date and is facing the Criminal charge of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation with over 80 mg. of alcohol.
