Police Investigate Arson – Dartmouth

At 3:47 a.m., 16 May, Halifax Regional Police and HRM Fire & Emergency responded to a structure fire inside an apartment building in the 30 block of Lakefront Road Dartmouth.​ Multiple callers reported seeing smoke from the building.​

HRM Fire attended and extinguished the fire at4:25 a.m.​ Halifax Transit has a bus on site as a temporary shelter for 12 tenants (adults and children) that have been evacuated.​ No one was injured.

Fire Investigators confirmed the fire was intentionally set and the arson investigation has been turned over to police.​ The arson investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing.​ Police will remain on scene for the Forensic Identification Section to process the scene in day light.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5016.​
