Middleton RCMP investigate fatal collision, Forest Glade, N.S.

Middleton RCMP is investigating a collision that claimed the life of a woman early this morning. At approximately 1:50 a.m., Middleton RCMP received a 911 call of a single vehicle collision on Ben Phinney Road in the community of Forest Glade in Annapolis County.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., Middleton RCMP received a 911 call of a single vehicle collision on Ben Phinney Road in the community of Forest Glade in Annapolis County.

Emergency Health Services, Margaretsville and Kingston Fire Departments also responded and assisted RCMP at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with extensive damage was located in a west side ditch of Ben Phinney Road, just south of the intersection with Forest Glade Road. The lone occupant of the vehicle, a 66-year-old female from Margaretsville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The ‘Jaws of Life’ were required to remove the victim from the vehicle. She was transported to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for autopsy. The name of the deceased has not been released.

An RCMP traffic analyst attended the scene and the matter is still under investigation. Weather conditions at the time were poor.
