Millbrook RCMP is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this morning.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., Millbrook RCMP responded to a 911 call of an altercation that occurred in a Millbrook residence.
Preliminary investigation revealed that one person was shot with a firearm and another person was pepper sprayed during the altercation. The shooting victim, a 25-year-old man from Millbrook, was taken to the East Hants Health Centre with non life-threatening injuries and was later transported to Halifax QEII. The other victim, a 19-year-old man from Millbrook, was taken to the East Hants Health Center and later released.

After the altercation, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Both victims and one of the suspects are from Millbrook. This was not a random act, the victims and suspects are known to each other.
The Police Dog Service, Colchester County RCMP and Forensic Identification Services are assisting Millbrook RCMP with this investigation.
