RCMP release:
Colchester County District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 75-year-old Fred Bishop Coldwell.
Coldwell left his home yesterday to go hunting in a wooded area off Truro Rd., McCallum Settlement, and has not returned; his ATV was located yesterday afternoon in the wooded area nearest civic 1759, Truro Rd.
Coldwell is described as a man, 5-foot-10, 210 lbs, with short grey hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen dressed in bright orange.
Colchester County District RCMP and multiple Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) from Colchester, East Hants, Pugwash, Pictou, Musquodoboit, Halifax, Springhill and Eastern Shore have been searching the area since yesterday evening with assistance of Bible Hill Volunteer Fire and RCMP Police Dog Services. The search continues this morning.
The RCMP and GSAR are asking hunters to stay out of the area to allow trained searchers to continue with their work. Staying out of the area will facilitate the search and allow for the best chance to locate Coldwell.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Fred Bishop Coldwell is asked to contact Colchester County District RCMP at 902-893-6820.
