Missing hunter found deceased, Upper Clyde, N.S.

Shelburne County RCMP ended their search for a missing Clyde River hunter. At approximately 10:15 p.m. last evening, RCMP responded to a report of a missing 67-year-old hunter on McGill's Road in Upper Clyde, Shelburne County.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. last evening, RCMP responded to a report of a missing 67-year-old hunter on McGill’s Road in Upper Clyde, Shelburne County.

Preliminary investigation determined that the lone man had been deer hunting since 2 p.m. and was supposed to return home at nightfall. Family members went looking for him and found his ATV on a trail but could not locate the man.

RCMP was contacted and deployed the Shelburne County Ground Search and Rescue, the police dog, Clyde River Fire service and Emergency Health Services (EHS). At approximately 1:45 a.m. this morning, the body of the missing hunter was located by the RCMP police dog near his hunting blind. The scene was examined and RCMP do not suspect foul play. RCMP would like to thank the search team and volunteers for their assistance.
