Update: Guysborough County man faces attempted murder charge, North Riverside, N.S.

Guysborough RCMP have charged an 18-year-old North Riverside man with Attempted Murder.

On Saturday morning at approximately 12:30 a.m., Guysborough RCMP were dispatched to a fight in progress.

The altercation involved a man being shot with a firearm in a loft apartment in an unattached garage of a residence on the North Riverside Road. The victim remains in hospital.

Charles James MacPherson, 18, is facing a charge of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault. He may face additional firearms offences. The accused will appear in Antigonish Provincial Court on Monday at 9:30 a.m.. The investigation is continuing.
