#MomsReading – The Third Book

Hi! Is this the first you’re hearing about the MomsReading book club? If so, check out this page to get caught up! I just popped over to my Goodreads profile to see that I am on track with my reading challenge for this year (which actually means I am falling behind because I was ahead a month ago). It just reminds me how often I need a good, swift kick in the pants to convince me to slow down and actually take some time to relax, escape, and quiet down. I am proud to announce that I have read at least a chapter a day before bed, however this is taking the place of valuable sleep, so there’s that. How has reading gone for you over the past month? I hope you’ve been reading through The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton because that is our first book club selection and we will be discussing it together in less than two weeks. Based on the survey results, the best night for everyone to get together and discuss the book is Wednesday, so we will be doing our book discussions on the last Wednesday of every month. For now, we will do the first discussion on the Facebook page, so make sure you head on over there and give it a Like. (Twitter and Facebook were virtually equal when I asked for your preferable discussion platform. I am choosing Facebook because I think it will scare less people, although I think Twitter would work better for something like this, so we will see how it goes.) I chose 9pm Eastern time (10pm for those of you who live in my time zone) so that it won’t be too late or too early for anyone located in North America. On the morning of our discussion (March 27th) I’ll publish my review of The Secret Keeper on this blog and I’d love for you to blog your own review! I will have a Linky open so that we can all read each other’s reviews and get to know one another. Last month, I announced that our second book selection would be The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. We will be discussing this on Wednesday, April 24th. In the survey, someone suggested we read more than just fiction. Now, I’m going to be honest. I don’t really like to read anything other than fiction. So, don’t expect it to happen often. But I have heard such great things about Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson (aka The Bloggess) and so we will be reading it together as our third book club selection. Are you excited? I’m excited. Let’s get reading! :) ...

I hope you’ve been reading through The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton because that is our first book club selection and we will be discussing it together in less than two weeks.
