Monday Shoe Porn: Happy Birthday to Erin

L-A: Monday is rearing its ugly head yet again (every friggin week), so we’re going to try and make it a bit better with some Shoe Porn.  This week belongs to the adorable birthday girl Erin (CBC news code name: Emma – start watching at about 18:14), who had on a ridiculously great dress at the SATC2 party.  She definitely brought the pretty to the party.

Anyway, Erin has recently returned to the East Coast after spending a few years (and more than a few dollars on shoes and clothes) in Calgary.  When she’s not blogging, she’s also the Halifax Chapter Director for The S.W.A.P. Team and is busy making plans to bring a huge clothing swap to the city. We will be sure to pass on the details of this event.

Unknown brand - bought at Dressed In Time (off of SGR) - THE place to go for broken-in, secondhand cowboy boots. I lived in Calgary for three years, but didn't buy boots until I moved to Halifax. Ironic. But beyond comfortable. Aldo - bought in Calgary. I loved the S&M look of the shoes. Though I would never, of course, certainly... BCBGirls brand - Bought at Winners in Fredericton, NB My first grown-up pair of heels (as in, nothin fancy but goes with EVERYTHING). Will have to get them touched up at the peddler. Forever21 - Received as a gift from one of my best girlfriends. They match my black taffeta & sequined halter dress from the 80's, match made in Material Girl heaven. Gap - Hand-me-downs from the same girlfriend. Pretty sure never worn. They're my "grown up and responsible" shoe. Le Chateau - bought brand new at a consignment store in Calgary for a STEAL (as in $6). Because every woman needs red heels. Naughty Monkey brand - Bought at Splurge @ Parklane on clearance for $10! I know. I bought 2 pairs, one for my sister, because she's so fashionably awesome, too. Nine West - Bought at The Shoe Company in Calgary. Loved the blinged out toe... it's like jewelry for your feet. Payless - Bought in Calgary. Because I fell in love with the 1920's detail. Swingin'. ShoeDazzle.com - I'm in love with this website (Kim Kardashian is the spokeswoman). New shoes, every month, delivered. Please check it out! The zippers did it for me on these. And oddly comfortable, too. Also from ShoeDazzle.com - I wear these a lot - with pleather pants, black mini-dresses, dress pants, jeans, maxi dresses, long shorts, t-shirt dresses.. you get the picture. And again, from ShoeDazzle.com - These looked way cooler online, and the fit really well, but I always seem to think my feet look like they're little gold astronauts when I wear 'em. They're mostly for show. ShoeDazzle.com - seeing a pattern? Seeing an addiction? My favorite ankle boots, the buckles really make me want to crank up Heart and watch The Runaways. Hidden platform, too. ShoeDazzle.com - YSL did a tire-tread style a couple of seasons ago.. and if I ever get to wave the flag at Indy, I'll wear these. Feel like I could sprint in them, haven't tried... ShoeDazzle.com - Really, really comfortable, love the platform, and the brown goes with everything. I'm not kidding. Even Grey sweatpants. In my apartment, of course. Spring - Just got these as an early birthday gift from my utterly fabulous sister. They are now my new "lucky shoes" for reasons best left unsaid. Steve Madden - bought at Winners in Fredericton, NB. I wear these almost every New Years Eve. Certain there's still confetti glued to the bottom of them from 2007. L.A.M.B. - Purchased at a boutique-is-moving-down-the-street sale in Calgary (Purr on 17th Ave). Pretty certain they were less than $30, and there were 2 pairs left. Bought both, shipped the other to my old roommate - I owed her big time throughout university! My errand-running shoes.

I love that some of her shoes were photographed on a stovetop. It made me want to come up with some cheeseball pun like “Erin’s shoes are cookin’”, but I refrained myself (lucky you!). Her shoes are pretty hot though. And from the sounds of it, her sister also has a good shoe collection – maybe Erin will get pics of those as well.

And speaking of Calgary (in a roundabout way), I need to take a moment to say Auf Wiedersehen, Good Bye to a Halifabulous reader (and a fellow King’s alum) who will be moving there. Maybe Jill will take pictures of her fantastic shoes as she unpacks and share them with us.  Halifax will definitely miss her, her style and her parties.

Ally: Erin is one of my favourite new people. Not that she is a new person, but she is new to me. Like my fantastic new DKNY pants purchased last weekend from Frenchy’s. Not that I am comparing Erin to a Frenchy’s find. Except I sort of am. To sum? She’s adorable, fun, witty and totally chic. I adore her shoe collection, and am so happy her porn lands on her birthday. I bet her Dad never thought that sentence would be on the Internets!

Happy Monday, readers. J’taime. xoxo
