Mugshare 16oz Bamboo Fiber Cup recalled due to burn hazard

Common name: 16oz Bamboo Fiber Cup

Product description: This recall involves 16oz bamboo fiber cup. The black mug comes with teal coloured lids and can be identified by the model number  CJ5001. It is made of 60% bamboo fibre, 20% cornstarch, 20% melamine. It has the following warning statements written on it:

• “Caution Contents Hot” written on the lid; and
• “Do not microwave, Dishwasher safe” written on the base of mug.

Hazard identified: The affected cups may crack or break, posing a burn hazard to consumers.  As of January 7, 2020, the company has received one report of a minor burn injury in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected cups and either return the cups to any participating locations for a refund or dispose of the product.
