Multiple injuries after robbery suspect flees police

SiRT is also investigating

Earlier this afternoon, officers observed a suspect vehicle associated to recent thefts and frauds and attempted to stop it in Spryfield. The suspect vehicle accelerated to a high speed, struck another vehicle, which in turn struck a pedestrian on a side walk in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road.

The 61-year-old male pedestrian has been taken to the hospital for what are currently believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Passengers of the vehicle that had been struck also attended the hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries. The suspect vehicle was later located abandoned in another area without the suspect in it. The investigation is ongoing.

The matter has been referred to Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT), who is currently reviewing the matter to determine if an investigation will occur.
