Never talk to strangers

halifax-regional-policeThe parents of an 11 year old boy contacted police last evening. They reported that, as their son was walking home from school at about 4:20p.m. on Walcot Run near Brook Street in Halifax, he was approached by a vehicle.

The vehicle stopped and, through the open passenger side window, the driver asked him to get in. The boy ran home.

The boy described the car as an older model beige sedan, and the driver as a white man in his fifties, with a long white beard. The man may have spoken with a stutter.

Parents are reminded to make sure children are aware they should never accept a drive from a stranger.

This boy acted appropriately by refusing the ride and telling his parents what had happened.
