New Executive Director of Acadian Affairs

Government strategist Mark Bannerman will be the new executive director of Acadian Affairs, starting Monday, Sept. 19. Mr. Bannerman joins Acadian Affairs from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development where he spent many years working with the Acadian and francophone community. Most recently he served as executive lead for Strategic Initiatives.      "Mr. Bannerman's proven leadership within government is a definite asset as we continue to engage the Acadian and francophone community and build strong connections with our partners," said Acadian Affairs Minister Michel Samson. "His experiences leading consultations with education stakeholders and negotiations with the federal government make him the ideal person to take the lead at Acadian Affairs." Mr. Bannerman is replacing Vaughne Madden, who took a position with the 2019 Congrès mondial acadien in Moncton in June."On behalf of government, I extend my deepest appreciation to Vaughne for many years of exceptional service to the province's Acadian and francophone community," said Mr. Samson.
