Police have concluded the investigation into a complaint of assault on a number of children at Bedford South School on May 16.

On May 17, Halifax Regional Police received a complaint of assault by an Assistant Instructor in the Excel Program on a number of children at Bedford South School, and the matter was assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section. The investigation determined there was no evidence of intent to harm the children and no evidence to suggest it was a malicious act. It was also determined that the incident involved masking tape, not duct tape as was originally reported to police. No charges are being laid.

As part of the investigation, investigators have been liaising with the parents of all of the involved children to advise them of the findings. These discussions concluded this evening and the police file has now been closed.
